Last week, the Henry Hudson STEM School, celebrated friendships during SEL Week and it was an incredible success for everyone. The teachers and students enjoyed activities every day, which allowed them to get to know one another. The activities addressed the SEL competencies of social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.

This event will be made possible by the Union City Public Schools and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. In light of new guidelines and misinformation surrounding COVID-19, this event aims to raise awareness and answer any questions the community may have during this delicate time. Hudson School's Pre-K classes celebrated the importance of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). This is a methodology that helps students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully and demonstrate empathy for others.

The Kindergarten classes at Hudson School commemorated the importance of SELebration Day with a performance of friendship, love, and emotions. Happy SEL Day to all! Congratulations to the teachers organizing this event and the children who did an outstanding job.
