Dear Parents/Guardians:
I hope this finds you and your families safe and well. As you are undoubtedly aware, we are experiencing a surge of new COVID-19 cases in our area due to the highly contagious Omicron variant.
Being mindful of the health and well-being of our students, staff, and community, and out of an abundance of caution, the Union City Board of Education, in conjunction with Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack, the Hudson County Health Department, and the New Jersey Department of Education, has decided to implement virtual learning upon our return from the holiday break.
All Union City public schools will be closed and on virtual learning for the week of January 3-7, 2022, and we will reassess to determine whether to continue on virtual or return in person the following week.
We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. Please be assured that our school community’s safety remains our highest priority.

Espero que esto los encuentre a ustedes y a sus familias seguros y sanos. Como ustedes saben, tenemos un aumento de nuevos casos de COVID-19 en nuestra área debido a la variante Omicron altamente contagiosa.
Teniendo en cuenta la salud y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes, el personal y la comunidad, y por mucha precaución, la Junta de Educación de Union City, junto con el Alcalde y Senador Estatal Brian P. Stack, el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Hudson, y el Departamento de Educación de New Jersey, ha decidido implementar el aprendizaje virtual al regresar de las vacaciones festivas.
Todas las escuelas públicas de Union City estarán cerradas y el aprendizaje será virtual durante la semana del 3 al 7 de enero de 2022.
