Ms. Diaz’s class celebrated thanksgiving as pilgrims. The students created their own pilgrim hats as well as created a pilgrim doll as a story connection to Molly’s Pilgrim. Also, Ms. Díaz collaborated with the 3rd grade team in “Thankful Turkey” where students had to represent each feather for what they are thankful for. Next, Ms. Díaz and Ms. Gómez collaborated in a virtual thanksgiving Day parade where they showed their pilgrim dolls, read about the history of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Lastly, both teachers read “Balloons over Broadway” and collaboratively answered comprehension questions. Finally, all students watched a virtual annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade where they learned about how the balloons are constructed and the types of characters.
